In Uganda
Batwa people are marginalised and excluded from land and economic opportunities. In south-western Uganda we are promoting beekeeping among vulnerable groups living near to Bwindi Mgahinga Conservation Area. The forest, and the surrounding rich farmland have been made off-limits to many people. We have shown that beekeeping can help the situation, both to reduce pressure on the environment and to give a resilient income for those who live here.

Growing savings with bees in Manicaland, Zimbabwe
Next month we begin beekeeping training - in partnership with Working for Bees in Manicaland, Zimbabwe. Two groups of women involved in savings and loans groups, will be given skills and knowledge to keep bees, and to harvest and market their products, helping them to generate new income. We look forward to sharing news and reporting on their progress.
