 Summary:

Prof. Wongsiri welcomed all the participants in the meeting and thanked Apimondia for providing venue He  informed the body of the transfer of office and management of AAA from Japan to China with  Dr. Chen Lihong  as the  Secretary General of . It was proposed that India and Thailand should have two chapters.  He also suggested   the holding of an annual meeting of AAA and  adjustment of membership fee to $100 annually.   A database for Asian bees  will be constructed and Dr. Zachary Huang graciously volunteered to host the website.

Dr. Osman Kaftanoglu reported the highlights of the forthcoming 12th AAA Conference in Antalya Turkey on April 24-27, 2014. The congress venue  will be at  Miracle Hotel in Antalya. The abstract and full paper  submission deadline is January 25, 2014 and March 28, 2014, respectively. The conference language is in English, but simultaneous translation will be available during the congress in Turkish and English in the main meeting room.

Prof. Kun-Suk Woo presented a brief report on the 2015 Apimondia Congress to be held in Korea. Prof. Wongsiri pledged the support of AAA to the Apimondia Congress.  

Dr. Cleo Cervancia introduced the guests from Tanzania, and extended invitation to attend the AAA in Turkey. The body agreed that  Tanzania team will be  given a time slot to present talks on bee R&D  in their country.  An official invite will be sent . Prof. Wongsiri welcomed the idea of this collaboration to expand the knowledge on beekeeping across regions and continents. He reminded that proposals for hosting the 2016 AAA may now be submitted to the secretariat.

As there were no other matters to discuss, the meeting was adjourned at 7:00 PM.
